Spring High School Season
Spring is technically the official season for high school boys volleyball. Because the UHSAA does not recognize boys volleyball as a sanctioned sport there is no official region competition. During the spring, Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah County Schools participate in their respective seasons. Until we increase the interest among schools here in Southern Utah, we are left to come up with creative ways to schedule games and prepare our team for the 2018 UBVA State Tournament on the weekend of May 10-11th up north.
We will look at the possibility of entering pre-season tournaments in Las Vegas, California, as well as up north. Until then, we are hoping to get a border league going locally as interest grows throughout the schools in Region 9. During the spring, we will also have the opportunity to set up grass and sand courts for the guys to learn and play "2 v 2" (or "doubles") to stay engaged in the sport and develop ball control.
